Sonam Kapoor, known for her fashion prowess, took centre stage as the gracious hostess for football legend David Beckham in Mumbai, seizing the opportunity to showcase her impeccable style. Alongside her husband Anand Ahuja, the actress organised a welcome party for the football icon on November 15. For this special occasion, Sonam Kapoor embraced the ethnic charm, donning a stunning red saree sourced from Divyam Mehta’s collection. Sonam’s saree ensemble stole the spotlight with its fusion of style and tradition. She opted for a red saree adorned with golden embellishments, paired with a trendy blouse featuring an asymmetrical hem.
The ivory-hued attire provided the perfect canvas for Sonam Kapoor to experiment with contrasting elements. The loosely tied pleats of the saree were artfully paired with an oversized silk blouse, injecting a touch of drama into the ensemble. The V neckline and quarter-length sleeves, attached to floor-sweeping tassels at her waist, added a unique flair to her look. Complementing her traditional outfit, the actress adorned herself with a polki choker-style oxidised jewellery set featuring miniature beads and wore statement earrings. For the hairstyle, the actress styled her hair in a middle-parted low bun adorned with vibrant red roses, adding a touch of ethnic glamour to the overall ensemble. Talking about her makeup, Sonam Kapoor’s makeover was a harmonious blend of kohl-rimmed eyes, a dewy base, nude glossy lips, and radiant highlighter, showcasing her impeccable sense of beauty.
On the other hand, Sonam’s husband, Anand Ahuja, complemented his wife in elegant traditional attire. The entrepreneur wore a closed-neck kurta with a contrasting white straight pajama. Together, they radiated grace and style, making the evening a memorable fusion of glamour and celebration.
David Beckham, the man of honour, opted for a casually stylish ensemble as he posed for the cameras. Sporting a black T-shirt with a collared neckline, the footballer carried it in a button-down style that paired seamlessly with his straight ankle-length trousers. The length of the trousers offered a perfect glimpse of David’s tan-hued ankle-length shoes. The sole accessory completing his look was a black wristwatch.
Among the notable attendees were Bollywood luminaries such as Anil Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Mira Rajput, Karisma Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora, and others. The glittering guest list also featured the presence of Shibani Dandekar, Farhan Akhtar, and other prominent figures from the entertainment industry. Isha Ambani and Shloka Mehta were also captured arriving at the intimate gathering.
Work-wise, Sonam Kapoor’s latest movie was a crime thriller called Blind, released on July 7. It’s directed by Shome Makhija and produced by Sujoy Ghosh. The movie is inspired by a South Korean film of the same name. Blind is Sonam’s first major role since The Zoya Factor in 2019. There are rumours that she’ll be part of the film adaptation of Anuja Chauhan’s novel Battle for Bittora next year, and the actress has recently talked about her thoughts on this project.
